Axe Vale & District Conservation Society

Welcome to the AV&DCS website

The Axe Vale & District Conservation Society was formed c.1970 and was 'dedicated to the protection of wildlife and the environment in their area’.

Its aims included 'securing the representation, protection, development and improvement of features of beauty or of historic or public interest' in the Axe Vale and surrounding areas.

Since 1996, the society has run many events, (the current ones can be seen opposite) and has built up links with various organisations such as Devon Wildlife Trust, EDDC Countryside Service, AONB, Devon Birds, Natural England, Environment Agency and Devon Heritage Coast Team.
